What is PCR and how it becomes a Powerpack waste bag?

At Powerpack, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. One of the key ways we contribute to a greener future is through the use of PCR – Post-Consumer Recycled material.

So, what is PCR?
PCR is plastic that has already been used by consumers, collected, cleaned, and processed to create a new raw material that is brought back to the loop. Using PCR reduces the need for virgin plastic, lowers environmental impact, and supports the circular economy.

To ensure high-quality standards and our adherence to QA CER, we work only with certified recycling companies that follow strict processes. Here’s how PCR is created and turned into the waste bags you know from Powerpack:

  1. Collection: Post-consumer plastic waste, mainly LDPE (low-density polyethylene), is collected from households, businesses, and industrial sources.
  2. Sorting: The collected waste is carefully sorted to remove contaminants and separate plastics by type.
  3. Recycling: LDPE waste is cleaned, shredded, and processed by certified recycling companies to produce high-quality recycled granules.
  4. Production: Powerpack takes these recycled granules and transforms them into durable, reliable waste bags, ready for use in households and industry alike.

This process ensures that every bag we produce contributes to a greener, more sustainable future, reducing virgin plastic use and promoting a circular economy.
